Carers Information

Carers provide unpaid care by looking after an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend or partner.

The following local organisations can provide more information about carers or offer a service to carers:

North and West Carers Centre support carers living in North and West Oxfordshire.

Crossroads for Carers (Oxfordshire) provides support to carers in the form of fully trained care workers who will sit with the person being cared for so that the carer can go out.

A4E Carers Emergency Support Service is a 24 hour emergency support service for adult carers of adults in Oxfordshire.  The scheme is carried out by A4E on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council.

Carers UK is a membership organisation of carers, led by carers for carers.  They campaign and take action to bring about change locally and nationally.

Crossroads for Carers is a national organisation who aim to provide a reliable respite break service, tailored to mee the individual needs of each carer and the person they are caring for.  They have schemes in most parts of England and Wales.

Kiloran Trust is a large welcoming house in west London in which full time carers at home can go to for a holiday / supportive break.
