Telecare can help promote independence, improve safety at home and provide reassurance for carers and family members. Telecare normally consists of a base unit, which is linked to a telephone, and a personal pendant which can be worn around the neck, on the wrist or attached to a belt.
Before purchasing Telecare equipment, you may wish to see if you are eligible for any equipment through Oxfordshire County Council (click on the "Alarms and Sensors" page).
The Guideposts Trust Independent Living Centre does not sell Telecare equipment, but we can tell you how much it should cost. We also keep up to date information on local and national suppliers. We also have a working example of the type of Telecare equipment which can be supplied through Oxfordshire County Council. If you would like a demonstration, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
Information about Telecare will be added to this section of the web-site in due course. In the meantime, please contact us for further information.
