The Centre has a showroom, which includes a mobility area.
There is a range of equipment in the mobility area, which includes some walking sticks, walking frames, 3 and 4 wheeled walkers and also the U step walker, which was designed for people with Parkinsons.
We have recently designed a compare and contrast guide to the 4 wheeled walkers which we have at the centre. The guide may be useful to Occupational Therapists, or others, who are interested in seeing a range of walker dimensions.
As the Centre is fairly small we do not have wheelchairs or mobility scooters. However, we work closely with local retailers and hold wheelchair and scooter clinics once a month. The clinics are opportunties to chat to one of our Occupational Therapists and then to try out scooters or wheelchairs which a local retailer brings to the Centre. There is no obligation to buy from the retailer. To find out more about these clinics, please telephone our information line on 01993 899985.
You can drop into the Centre to pick up information and be shown equipment but some items of equipment can only be tried when an Occupational Therapist is available. To avoid disappointment, it is, therefore, strongly recommended that you book an appointment before visiting.
